The recent visit by Roxas Stand-Alone Senior High School to the two library sites of Isabela State University-Roxas Campus provided a valuable educational experience for the Grade 11 students, particularly those from the HUMMS (Humanities and Social Sciences Strand). The event, which was part of their Practical Research 1 subject, gave the students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wealth of resources available at the libraries.
During the visit, the students were divided into three batches, allowing for a more focused and personalized learning experience. Under the guidance of their Research Teacher, Ma’am Hazel May A. Marquez, and Ma’am Romalyne De Leon-Angui, with the help of library staff, the students explored various books, academic journals, topical magazines and other reference materials related to their research projects. This hands-on learning approach not only enhanced their research skills but also encouraged critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the topics they were studying.
The library visit was also marked by an enriching exchange of ideas and great talks, to discuss potential future collaborations between the school and the library, which could further benefit the students’ academic pursuits. Such partnerships could open up additional opportunities for students to access specialized resources and receive expert guidance, all of which would complement their ongoing research work.
Through the library's reference service, the students were equipped with a broad spectrum of information, providing them with the tools to delve deeper into their topics. This experience emphasized the importance of library resources as an essential part of academic development and research. It allowed the students to not only gather information but also develop essential skills that they will carry with them into their future academic and professional endeavors.
