January 20, 2025 โ€” As the second semester of the academic year begins, the ISU-R Library welcomed students with a heartwarming program titled "Eat, Sip, Read." This initiative, led by the Campus Librarian, Ms. Ivy Camille Gan, aimed to create a positive and engaging atmosphere for students by offering free hot coffee and freshly baked pandesal on their first day back to campus.
The event transformed the library into a vibrant space where students could relax, connect, and recharge amidst the excitement and challenges of the new semester. Organized by the dedicated library staff, "Eat, Sip, Read" sought to foster a sense of belonging and make the library more than just a place for academic pursuits but also a hub for community and well-being.
Students from various departments enjoyed the opportunity to explore the library's vast resources while indulging in a warm cup of coffee and delicious bread. The gesture was met with appreciation, as many expressed gratitude for the thoughtful welcome.
Aligned with the United Nationsโ€™ Sustainable Development Goal, Zero Hunger, the program not only enhanced the student experience but also emphasized the importance of starting the day with a nourishing meal. "Eat, Sip, Read" reflects the library's commitment to transforming its space into an inclusive and comforting environment where learning, connection, and relaxation go hand in hand.
